What the licence controls
One thing: whether vodmatic may write to your Ministra database. Everything else — scanning, reading, the panel, the app, all the screens — keeps working regardless.
Nothing is ever deleted or torn down because of a licence. If it lapses, new files stop going in. What is already in your catalogue stays exactly where it is.
The states
| Active | Everything normal. |
| Grace period | The licence server could not be reached, or an invoice is outstanding. Writing continues for a number of days so that a temporary problem does not stop your catalogue. The Licence screen says how many days are left. |
| Suspended | Usually an unpaid invoice. Writing stops. Paying reactivates it — press Check now rather than waiting. |
| Unverifiable | We cannot be reached at all. Nearly always a temporary network problem; it clears on its own. |
The Licence screen
Your status, how much of your plan the portal is using, and the last twenty checks with what each returned. If you are ever unsure whether a problem is your licence, that history answers it.
Check now forces a fresh call rather than waiting for the next scheduled one. Use it after paying an invoice.
Plan size
Your plan covers a number of files in the portal. The Status and Licence screens both show where you are against it.
Going over your plan does not stop anything. Nothing is switched off, nothing is deleted, no writing is blocked. You are told, we can see it too, and we will talk to you about moving to a larger plan. We would rather your catalogue kept working than have it break at midnight over a threshold.
You are warned at nine tenths of the plan so that going over is never a surprise.
What is counted
Files in the portal, not files on your disk and not gigabytes. A film is one. A series with forty episodes is forty.
Subtitles do not count. They sit in the same table as the video files, and a catalogue subtitled into four languages would otherwise read as five times its real size. Your instance shows them separately, beside the total, so you can see they are there and see that they are not being charged for.
Changing your instance's address
The licence is bound to your instance's domain. If you need it moved to a different address, open a ticket — it is a small change at our end, but it has to be done there or the licence will refuse the new address.
If you cancel
Nothing is torn down automatically. Your instance and everything in your Ministra catalogue stay as they are, and we contact you about what you want done with them. No script deletes a customer's catalogue.
