Status is the home screen and answers one question: is this instance all right, and if not, what is wrong. Everything on it is ordered the way you would ask — what is broken, then whether anything is being written at all, then how much work is outstanding.
What needs looking at
The list at the top is the judgement, not the raw numbers. Each line has a colour:
| Red | Something has stopped. The licence is blocking writes, Ministra cannot be reached, or nothing has been processed for over an hour. |
| Amber | Something will stop, or something is waiting for you. Failed jobs, a licence in its grace period, items on Needs attention, a catalogue over your plan. |
| Grey | Worth saying out loud, but not a fault. Dry run being on is the usual one. |
An empty list is the good outcome. It means every screen agrees there is nothing to do.
Writing
Three states, and they are not the same thing:
- On — new files go into Ministra.
- Dry run — everything is worked out and shown, and nothing is written. A deliberate setting, not a fault.
- Blocked — the licence will not allow writes. Nothing goes in until that is resolved.
Work
| Queued | Files found and waiting their turn. A large number here on a new instance is normal and simply means the first import is running. |
| Failed | Jobs that gave up. Tap the number to see which, and why. Failures are usually one cause repeated, not a hundred separate problems. |
| Waiting on you | Files and seasons on the Needs attention list. Nothing behind them moves until they are answered. |
| Last scan | When your folders were last walked. |
| Last processed | When a job last finished. If this is over an hour ago, something has stopped. |
| Titles with no match | Programmes the metadata provider could not identify. They still go in; they just have thin descriptions. The Matches screen is where you pin them by hand. |
Plan
How much your portal holds against what your plan covers. Going over it does not stop anything — nothing is switched off and nothing is deleted. You are told, and we will talk to you about it.
Ministra and Licence
Two one-line health checks. Connected and Active is what you want. Anything else is explained on the line itself.
Latest
The last few things that happened, newest first. Tap through to Activity for the full record, including the actual SQL that was run.
Reading it as a habit
If you check one thing a day, check that "What needs looking at" is empty and that "Last processed" is recent. Those two together mean the instance is doing its job.
