Adding a single film through the portal admin is a title, a year, a description, a poster and a path — six fields and a search in another tab. A season is that again for every episode, and the episodes end up called Episode 1 through Episode 12 because nobody has the afternoon it would take to name them properly.
So the catalogue runs months behind the disk, the newest thing on it is whatever somebody had the patience to enter, and half the entries have no artwork at all. Not because anyone is careless — because the work does not scale and the disk does.

The minutes are the honest middle of entering one title through a portal admin: title, year, description, poster and path, plus the search in another tab. New arrivals are costed at the same average as your backlog. This is an estimate you control, not a quotation.
It runs against the portal you already have, on the catalogue you have already built. Nothing is installed on your portal server and nothing about how you work has to change.
A folder per film, season folders, a flat dump — it works out title, year, season and episode from the names you already use. Where a name is genuinely ambiguous it asks you instead of guessing.
Your own .nfo files are read first and always win. TMDb fills in whatever they leave empty — and whether it is consulted at all is your decision.

It scans on whatever schedule suits your server, and your media server can tell it directly the moment a file appears — so a release can be in the catalogue before anyone goes looking for it.

This is the part worth reading twice, because it is the part that decides whether you can leave it running.
Not a film, not an episode, not a category, not when a licence ends. The only rows it ever deletes are ones it created itself moments earlier, to undo a write that failed half-way. Where it finds something worth removing — a duplicate, a file that has gone from the disk — it shows you where it is and leaves the decision with you.
Every pass that goes back over the catalogue — naming episodes, filling in posters — is limited to those. When a series you created by hand gains a new episode, it adds the episode to your series rather than making a second one beside it.
It opens files to read what they are. The connection it holds to your media server has no way to write and nothing that would use one.
A new instance is in dry run: it shows you every entry it would create, in full, and waits for you to turn writing on. Every route that writes honours that, not just the scan.

It marks everything it creates as its own, and every pass that goes back over the catalogue is limited to those — so an entry your admin typed is never renamed, re-described, or given different artwork. The one thing it will do with your entries is add to them: a new episode of a series you created by hand goes onto that series, rather than making a second copy of it beside yours.
That is what it expects you to do. A new instance writes nothing at all until you turn writing on, and the Preview page shows you exactly what any single file would become — every field, before any of it is real.
Few libraries are. It reads what it can, shows you its reading, and puts anything it could not resolve on one page for you to settle — rather than quietly filing it under the wrong programme.
It stays exactly as it is. Everything vodmatic wrote is an ordinary entry in your own portal's database, and nothing is removed or disabled when a licence ends.
It will not write anything until you tell it to — so the first look costs you nothing but the time it takes to read what it found.
