Stream Player is a television app for Android. One app covers live channels with a full TV guide, a film and series library, catch-up, recording, favourites and Chromecast. The same app runs on phones, tablets, Android TV, Fire TV and most Android set-top boxes, and adapts its layout to whichever you are using.
What you need
- An Android device running Android 5.0 or newer. Practically every device sold in the last decade qualifies.
- A licence key. You will have received one when you bought the app. It looks something like
ASTREAM-1a2b3c4d5e. - A subscription with a TV provider, and the details they gave you to connect with. Providers hand these out in three different shapes, and Stream Player takes all three — see Adding your TV provider. Stream Player is the player; it does not come with channels and is not a TV subscription in itself.
- An internet connection. Live television is a continuous stream, so a stable connection matters more than a fast one.
One licence key activates one device. If you want the app on both the television and your phone, you need a key for each. See "This licence is registered to another device" — moving to a new device if you are replacing a device rather than adding one.
