The first time Stream Player opens it asks you to activate the device. Nothing else in the app is reachable until that is done, and it only has to be done once.
Step by step
- Type your licence key into the Licence key box, exactly as you received it, including the part before the dash.
- Press Activate.
- The app checks the key and moves on to setting up your TV provider.
The Device ID
Underneath the button the screen shows a Device ID — a short code such as 7905996E0E6E84E9. Your licence is tied to it, which is how one key activates one device. Quote that code whenever you contact support about your licence; it is the fastest way for us to find the right record.
After activation
The app re-checks the licence quietly in the background, about once a day. You will never be asked to enter the key again. If the check cannot be made at all — your internet is down, or we are having a problem at our end — the app keeps working for a week, and warns you on screen for the last two days of that week. In practice a short outage is invisible to you.
