Providers hand out subscriptions in three different shapes, and Stream Player takes all three. The first thing the app asks is which one you have. You do not need to know the difference — look at what your provider actually sent you, in the welcome message or the order confirmation, and pick the line that matches:
- An address and a MAC address, or they asked you for a MAC address — choose Ministra / Stalker portal
- An address, a username and a password — choose Xtream Codes
- One long link, usually called an M3U or a playlist — choose M3U playlist
Name is anything you like. It is only a label, so you can tell your providers apart if you have more than one.
Ministra / Stalker portal
- Portal address — exactly as your provider wrote it. Something like
http://portal.example.com:8080/c/, or just the host name. The app follows the address to wherever it really leads and finds the right entry point itself. - MAC address — this is what identifies your subscription. The app fills in a generated one for you. If your provider gave you a MAC address, replace it with theirs — six pairs of characters separated by colons. If they did not, tell them the one shown here so they can register it on your account.
A portal of this kind has no username or password: it recognises the subscription by the MAC address alone, so those boxes are not shown. If your provider sent you a username and password as well, they are usually for their own website rather than for this app.
Xtream Codes
- Panel address — something like
http://panel.example.com:8080. If your provider gave you a longer link withplayer_api.phporget.phpon the end, paste the whole thing; the app takes the part it needs. - Username and password — exactly as they were sent, capital letters included.
M3U playlist
- Playlist address — the whole link, however long it is. Nothing else is needed.
Press Test connection before saving. It tells you straight away whether the address answers and whether the subscription is live, which saves guessing later.
If you chose M3U playlist and the app tells you it is really an Xtream panel, let it save it as one. Most playlist links are a panel underneath, and the app can tell the difference. Saved as a panel you get your provider's own categories, proper seasons and episodes, a guide for every channel, and catch-up. Saved as a plain list you get one long list of channels and none of those. It is the same subscription either way — only better organised.
