Watching live TV and changing channel Print

  • 0

Open Live TV, pick a group along the top, and tap a channel name to start watching. Underneath each name you can see what is on right now, with a bar showing how far through it is.

Changing channel while watching

  • The Channels button in the player controls slides the channel list in over the picture. Playback carries on behind it; pick a name to switch. The same groups are along the top, so a package of several hundred channels is still easy to move around in.
  • Swipe up or down on the picture to move one channel at a time.
  • Swipe in from the left edge to open the same channel list.
  • On a remote, channel up and down do the same thing.

Back closes the channel list rather than leaving what you are watching. The in the top-left corner leaves playback altogether.

The controls

Tap the picture — or press OK on a remote — and the title, the buttons and the cast button appear together, then fade after a few seconds. Nothing is left painted over the picture.

Playback follows the phone: hold it upright and you watch upright, turn it sideways and the picture turns with it. The status and navigation bars are hidden while you watch; swipe in from an edge if you need them.
